Abu Mohsen announced that the border crossing will open on Wednesday, November 1, to allow some of the critically wounded from Gaza to complete their treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
According to a written statement from the Israeli Border and Crossings Authority, Egyptian authorities informed Israel that 81 of the critically wounded individuals would be transferred to the country.
LATEST SITUATION IN ISRAELI ATTACKS
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on the morning of October 7, citing the need to respond to Israel's ongoing violations against "Palestinians and their sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque," while the Israeli army began intense aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli officials announced that more than 1,400 Israelis, including 315 soldiers, have been killed and 5,132 people have been wounded in the attacks launched from Gaza.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari noted that there are 240 Israeli hostages in the hands of the al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 8,525 Palestinians, including 3,542 children and 2,187 women, have been killed and 21,643 people have been wounded in Israeli attacks.
In the occupied West Bank, 124 Palestinians have been killed and approximately 2,000 Palestinians have been wounded in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers.
35 journalists in Gaza and 1 in Lebanon have lost their lives in Israeli bombardment.
Due to Israel's intense attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip, landline, mobile phone, and internet communication services in the region have come to a standstill.
The Israeli army began expanding limited ground operations on October 26 and further increased the intensity of its air strikes.
Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health facility in Gaza where thousands of wounded and civilians are located, has also been targeted by the Israeli army.
In the clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 8, 48 Hezbollah members and 4 Israeli soldiers have been killed so far.
