Russia issues Ukraine warning to UK: We may target military facilities

Russia has toughened its rhetoric toward the UK as London increases its military support for Ukraine. The Moscow administration has announced that if London continues its current Ukraine policy, British military facilities and equipment could be targeted.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova argued that the UK's current path could have "catastrophic consequences." Zakharova stated that if Ukraine uses British weapons to launch attacks on Russian territory, "any British military facility and equipment in Ukraine and beyond its borders could be targeted."

Zakharova also called on the British public to consider the consequences of their government's Ukraine policies. Urging the London administration to re-evaluate its stance, Zakharova said the UK must abandon what she described as a "hostile and aggressive" policy.

The latest link in the tension was influenced by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's first foreign visit to Ukraine after taking office. During the visit, it was announced that technical plans for the production of the long-range Scalp missile would be shared with the Ukrainian side.

It is stated that the agreement aims to enable Kyiv to produce these weapons with its own resources rather than importing them. Moscow, meanwhile, views this step as a sign that the UK is becoming more deeply involved in the war.

On the other hand, it has been claimed that British security units have increased their preparations against the possibility of direct or covert retaliation by Russia. According to the Daily Mail, some major British defense companies involved in arms production have strengthened facility security and taken additional measures against potential cyberattacks.
