Workers at the Akkuyu NPP construction site in Mersin have begun a protest, claiming that the subcontractor firm has not paid their salaries. Security measures in the area were increased due to the protest, which began yesterday when hundreds of workers stopped working.

The workers, stating that their salaries had not been deposited, continued their work stoppage today. Tense moments occurred during today's protest. Workers pelted some vehicles, which they claimed contained company officials, with stones. During some moments when shuttle buses were also subjected to stones, a few of the workers tried to calm the others down.

In one of the moments captured on a mobile phone, it was noted that some workers struck a particular vehicle with both stones and hard hats.
