That country has officially recognized Palestine as a state
The North American country of the Bahamas has announced that it has officially recognized Palestine as a state.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, it was stated that the government "supports the right of Palestinians to freely determine their political status and to freely pursue their economic, social, and cultural development."
The statement noted that the Bahamas supports a two-state solution and has officially recognized Palestine as a state.
Barbados and Jamaica also made the decision to recognize Palestine as a state in April.
