Trump announces 'energy ceasefire' for Russia-Ukraine

US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire regarding the energy sector in the war between Russia and Ukraine will go into effect immediately.

Stating that both parties have accepted the agreement, Trump called for an end to attacks targeting energy infrastructure. In his statement, the US President said, "Both sides have agreed. Do not break this ceasefire."

The statement indicated that the decision is effective immediately and that Russia and Ukraine have reached a consensus on the matter. Trump appealed to the parties, saying, "Please do not violate this ceasefire."

The energy ceasefire is considered an arrangement that could cover the protection of strategic infrastructure such as power plants, oil refineries, and natural gas facilities from being targeted in the war.

In the Russia-Ukraine war, energy facilities continue to be one of the critical issues throughout the conflict due to their both military and civilian impacts.
