US President Donald Trump announced in a post on his Truth social media account that his country has reached "the greatest oil deal in world history" with Venezuela.

Trump stated that during this process, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth worked in close cooperation with Venezuelan Interim President Delcy Rodriguez under his direct instructions, adding, "Through a partnership with the private sector, the US has secured majority control of over 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela, at no cost to our own taxpayers."
