Trump: We are very close to a ceasefire agreement
US President Trump stated that they are very close to an agreement in Gaza, while noting that he might travel to Egypt on Sunday.
US President Donald Trump indicated that the ceasefire negotiations currently underway in Egypt are going well and signaled that he might travel to the region.
The US President said, "A peace deal for the Middle East, hopefully that happens, they are doing very well right now. We have a great team there (in Egypt), great negotiators. I think it (the deal) will happen. There is a high chance of it happening. I might go there over the weekend, maybe Sunday."
In his subsequent remarks, Trump expressed that he could leave the US on Saturday to travel to the region and could be there by Sunday.
Emphasizing that the negotiation process is going well, Trump stated that many Muslim countries are involved in this process and that such a situation had never occurred before.
