The Turkish language has been accepted as an official language in North Mitrovica. I am very happy personally and on behalf of my party that we have undertaken such an initiative. Turks living in every region and every corner of Kosovo will be under the protection of the KDTP. We will always make our presence felt."
Ergin Kani, head of the KDTP Mitrovica branch, also stated in his remarks that they were very happy, saying, "It was something we had wanted to do for a long time. The mayor of North Mitrovica and the assembly president all supported us; may God be pleased with them."
