Ukraine: Russia launches drone and missile attacks on energy facilities in 5 regions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Russian army carried out intense attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles on energy facilities in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Lviv regions.

Ukraine: Russia launches drone and missile attacks on energy facilities in 5 regions

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in a post on his social media account that Russia attacked Ukrainian territory overnight using more than 40 missiles and around 40 "Shahed"-type UAVs, noting that they only managed to shoot down a portion of the missiles and drones.

Pointing out that the Russian army targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure facilities, Zelenskyy remarked, "Another vile missile attack on Kharkiv. Facilities in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Lviv regions were also targeted."

A statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that 37 UAVs were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces during the night.

Ukrainian Minister of Energy German Galushchenko also indicated in a post on his social media account that Russia had once again attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, adding:

"Generation and transmission system facilities in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Kyiv regions were attacked. Energy engineers are working to address the consequences of the attack."

'INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY ATTACKED'

Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko stated in a post on his social media account, "The air raid alert lasted for more than 5 hours. Unfortunately, a critical infrastructure facility in the Kyiv region was hit during the air raid alert."

Kravchenko reported that there were no injuries or loss of life in the attack.
