US approves $2.27 billion arms sale to Egypt, Kuwait, and UAE
The US Department of State has approved the sale of missiles, guidance kits, and military equipment to Egypt, Kuwait, and the UAE, totaling $2.27 billion.
The US Department of State has approved potential military sales to Egypt, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates totaling $2.27 billion.
According to the statement, the largest item in the package is the sale of APKWS-II guidance sections and related parts to the UAE, valued at approximately $1 billion 41 million.
The estimated value of the sale approved for Egypt was announced as $832 million. This package includes the provision of up to 2,020 FGM-148F Javelin missiles and up to 200 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units to Cairo.
For Kuwait, the plan involves providing parts and repair services for Patriot missiles, valued at approximately $400 million.
On September 17, the US Department of State had also approved a potential $24.3 billion military sale to Saudi Arabia, which included 48 F-35 fighter jets and 49 engines.
