First statement from US President Biden regarding the hospital attack

Biden, who was welcomed on the tarmac in Tel Aviv, Israel, by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, left the airport to discuss the situation in Gaza.

As the meeting between Biden and Netanyahu in Israel concluded, Biden made several statements.

According to reports from Tel Aviv by Reuters, Biden said he "came to Israel with the message that you are not alone."

Evaluating the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation carried out by Hamas on October 7, Biden said, "The Hamas attack has left deep wounds among Israelis."

Biden stated that "it is impossible to try to justify or excuse the Hamas attack."

Stating that Israel must be a safe place for Jews again, Biden emphasized that he would request an unprecedented support package for Israel from the US Congress.

"A MISFIRED ROCKET"

Expressing that the Palestinian people are also suffering greatly, Biden announced that humanitarian aid would be provided to Gaza and the West Bank, and that a 100 million dollar fund would be allocated for this aid. Biden pointed out that the vast majority of Palestinians are not Hamas members.

Making a joint statement with the Israel Defense Forces, Biden said, "Based on the information we have, the hospital explosion in Gaza appears to be the result of a misfired rocket launched by a 'terrorist group'."

Stating that the US stands behind Israel, Biden warned, "Other nations or hostile actors should not think about attacking Israel."
