Yemeni Prime Minister Mubarak resigns
Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak shared his resignation letter addressed to Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, in a post on his social media account.
A resignation crisis has occurred in the Yemeni government. Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak announced that he has resigned due to political disagreements. On his social media account, Mubarak shared his resignation letter addressed to Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen.
In his resignation letter, Mubarak stated that he had faced "many difficulties," including his inability to reshape the government.
According to government sources speaking to Reuters, Mubarak had a disagreement with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, Rashad al-Alimi, regarding his powers. Al-Alimi rejected Mubarak's request to dismiss 12 ministers in the government.
FORMER FINANCE MINISTER APPOINTED
The Yemeni Presidency announced that Salem Saleh Bin Braikas, who served as finance minister in the previous cabinet, has been appointed as the new prime minister.
