Zelenskyy: Ukraine is not convinced

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared a post on his social media account regarding the statement made by US President Donald Trump that Ukraine and Russia had mutually agreed not to strike energy facilities.

Zelenskyy said, "Ukraine proposed that its partners reach an agreement with Russia to stop the destruction of critical infrastructure. Food, energy, and other basic necessities required to sustain life must be protected, but Russian attacks are primarily directed at these areas.

Every day, Ukraine's energy facilities, port infrastructure, logistics facilities, and even food and medicine warehouses are being targeted. Ukraine is not convinced that Russia is willing to abide by any agreement."

Zelenskyy, who is seeking guarantees from Ukraine's partners that Russia will stop its attacks on critical infrastructure facilities and food supply routes, said, "We are also ready to stop our attacks accordingly. This way, the agreement would be reliable and long-term, and would have a real impact on people's lives."

Pointing out that the agreement should not be broken after the election period in Russia, Zelenskyy said, "The war must end. A de-escalation step regarding critical infrastructure could be the first step toward peace. We are waiting for concrete steps from our partners."
