Cultural collapse and the chaos of humanity

A strange generation is growing up. A generation disconnected from established cultural values, one that disregards concepts such as ethics, morality, and human values. Different generations are emerging that, while appearing highly self-confident, are actually anxious, do not trust their surroundings, and therefore do not inspire trust, shaping feelings like friendship and camaraderie in relation to pragmatic interests.

Instead of achieving success by activating their own potential for production, they prefer to compete with others. Even if inspired by the motivating understanding of liberalism, the competitive mindset fed by the greed of capitalism often brings destruction along with it. While people prefer shortcuts to shorten the path to their goals, they get in each other's way and try to reach their goals by destroying one another.

Production is the way a person realizes and validates themselves. Success forms the basis for the positioning of the person who produces and realizes themselves within the social environment in which they live. As people produce, their life energy rises, and as they succeed, their social standing strengthens. Therefore, producing and succeeding are fundamental human needs.

A human being is the product of the society and culture into which they are born and raised. Culture nourishes the human pleasure of producing and succeeding. While people live in communities, they engage in their own unique cultural production through constant interaction and cooperation, while also being nourished by it. Values, morality, ethics, manners, behaviors, attitudes, tastes, pleasures, etc., also develop and mature by being nourished by culture.

However, culture is currently struggling, or even dying. The most important reason for this is that, with computer-based technological developments, virtual reality is increasingly replacing reality, which is the fundamental constituent element of culture. Lives aestheticized within virtual reality, superficial and baseless relationships, and lifestyle models that are mostly commercial and therefore geared toward consumption, make people part of an externally programmed, fictional narrative. The ready-made cultural forms integrated into this narrative also shape people's pleasures, tastes, aesthetic orientations, and forms of relationships. However, because all of these lack a cultural foundation kneaded with reality, they possess a character that is artificial, shallow, disconnected, complex, chaotic, undefined, aimless, directionless, and most importantly, devoid of sincerity.

The culture that people create in an environment of real interaction and relationships is increasingly giving way to a culture shaped within virtual reality. Therefore, culture is dying. Along with it, humanity is entering a serious state of chaos. This is the reason for the anxiety of modern humans. A feeling of being caught in between, of displacement, of homelessness. A disconnection from one's own reality, yet not having fully adapted to the virtual either.

Perhaps in the future, the chaos will end. Generations born and raised within the virtual might perhaps create their own cultural environments, develop their own styles, and find happiness there by at least achieving their own internal harmony. It is not easy to predict this yet. But today, we are all witnessing the collapse of humanity together. In a world where a significant portion of the population uses antidepressant medication, something is clearly going wrong. A person cannot enjoy living in an environment that is unhappy, hopeless, devoid of a sense of belonging, and insecure; on the contrary, they enter into a difficult struggle with life. This can make them quite exhausted, weary, isolated, and even at times lead them to give up on life.

Humans are social beings, and culture is like the mortar of society. Every kind of interaction, relationship, and production in society is nourished by the cultural environment. Expecting a person who has been severed from their cultural foundation to build a good life for themselves is nothing more than a fantasy. The disconnection of the human being from their own foundation, and therefore from their own reality, is the root cause of today's crisis of humanity.

Escaping this chaos is not easy at all. However, one must still strive to create awareness among people, saying there is still hope. Discovering the source of the problem and deciphering it can be a beginning for a solution. However, it must be stated that the problem is not in technology itself, but in the intention and manner of its use. Therefore, the goal should not be for virtual reality, which has become a serious field of interaction and communication in today's world, to replace our real world or to form an alternative to it, but rather to ensure it is used as a supporting field.

In short, we are responsible for whatever happens to us. Therefore, the solution lies within us as well.
