The famous producer and director, known as 'Mr. Cinema,' is being laid to rest today. The first ceremony for İnanoğlu was held at the TİM Show Center. Türker İnanoğlu's actor son, İlker İnanoğlu, said, "I thought I would feel relieved when he passed away, but it is very difficult. An era has ended."

Farewell to 'Mr. Cinema' Türker İnanoğlu: 'An era has ended'

Türker İnanoğlu, who could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken, will be laid to rest at the Kanlıca Family Cemetery following the funeral prayer to be held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque after the noon prayer.

A ceremony is being held for Mr. Cinema at the TİM Show Center.

Famous names from the art world have taken their places in the hall to bid farewell to İnanoğlu.

'HE WAS A STERN FATHER'

Türker İnanoğlu's actor son İlker İnanoğlu experienced emotional moments during his speech and expressed the following:

"He was a very stern father. I still feel like a child in front of him. I thought I would feel relieved when he passed away, but it is very difficult. I feel as if a piece of me has been torn away. I didn't expect to be this sad. Father, I love you very much, may you rest in peace."

'A FAREWELL JUST AS HE WANTED'

Türker İnanoğlu's daughter Zeynep İnanoğlu Özdemir said, "My father would not entrust the matters he cared about to anyone. He planned today himself. He had thought I would be abroad. We went over everything a few times. All these plans do not reduce the pain being felt. He was that kind of person; he was attentive to details. He was hardworking and disciplined. Although he did not show his emotions, he was extremely emotional. He was incredibly devoted to his work and his colleagues. He touched many lives and left behind many works.

He would have been very happy to see you all here today. It is exactly the farewell he wanted. Dear father, if you can hear me, if you can feel me, I want you to know that I love you very much. I promise that I will do everything in my power to ensure that your name and legacy live on with us," she stated.

'THERE IS NOTHING HE DIDN'T DO FOR CINEMA'

One of the legendary names of Yeşilçam, Hülya Koçyiğit, said, "He has an impact and a touch on all of our lives. He has very valuable contributions to Turkish cinema. From time to time, cinema hit a dead end. To resolve this, Türker İnanoğlu took us and brought us to Ankara. We visited the Ministry of Culture. He was a cinema lover, a cinema enthusiast; there is nothing he didn't do for cinema.

He was a patron to us all; I have great respect for his efforts. An era has ended with him today. How happy for such a lived life, as he left behind such beautiful works..."

'HE WAS VERY DISCIPLINED'

Singer Erol Evgin said, "He was the doyen of Turkish cinema. We have done a lot of work together for over 40 years. Most recently, he showed me his projects regarding Safranbolu University. He was very meticulous, very disciplined. I perform a concert here every year. The venue mesmerizes me every time. I would call him and say, 'What a beautiful venue you have built.

Your team is very good,' I would say. 'They have received military discipline,' he would tell me. I offer my condolences to his family, his loved ones, and the cinema and television world," he said.

'EVERYONE LOVED HIM'

Speaking at the ceremony, Cem Yılmaz said, "In the mid-1990s, Meltem Cumbul was doing a show. She had invited me, and he watched me there. After this stage became active, I performed here. If I performed a thousand shows, he came to all of them. He would always say, 'I love you the most,' and he would make you believe it. I thought I was the one he loved the most, but he loved everyone. And everyone loved him. He would always come to our stage and ask if we needed anything," he said.

WHO IS TÜRKER İNANOĞLU?

Turkish film director, producer, screenwriter, and businessman Türker İnanoğlu was born in Safranbolu on May 18, 1936. In 1957, while he was a student at the School of Applied Fine Arts, he entered the field of cinema as an assistant director.

He worked with famous directors such as Lütfi Ömer Akad and Nişan Hançer. He began directing in 1960 with the film 'Köyde Bir Kız Sevdim' (I Loved a Girl in the Village).

In 1960, he founded his own film company called Erler Film. In 1979, he founded the Ulusal Video company, and in 1985, he established a television studio.

He put his signature on numerous television productions. He was also the owner of the Atlas Cinema in Beyoğlu, the Kent Cinema in Şişli, and the Boğaziçi Cinemas in Kavacık. In 2005, he opened the TİM (Türker İnanoğlu Maslak Show Center) in Maslak, Istanbul.

Türker İnanoğlu passed away on April 2, 2024.
