Massive Attack reacts to Israel's bombardment: 'They have nowhere to go'
The long-standing alternative trip-hop group Massive Attack has condemned Israel's attacks on the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, where 1.5 million Palestinians have taken refuge and at least 100 civilians were killed, by sharing a poster that reads, 'They have nowhere to go.'
Members of Massive Attack shared a poster on the social media platform X with the note "All Eyes on Rafah," which reads: "1.4 million Palestinians are in mortal danger due to Israeli bombardment. They have nowhere to go."
Israel's attacks on Gaza, which have been ongoing for 4.5 months, extended on February 11 to the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, where 1.5 million Palestinians have taken refuge. According to eyewitness accounts, aerial bombardment was carried out on the north and south of the city.
It was reported that more than 100 Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured in the heavy bombardment, which included more than 50 airstrikes.
ABOUT MASSIVE ATTACK
Massive Attack is a British music group formed in Bristol in 1988. Its current members are Robert "3D" Del Naja, Adrian "Tricky" Thaws, and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. Their debut album, Blue Lines, was released in 1991.
"Unfinished Sympathy," featured on the album, was ranked 10th on The Guardian's 2009 list of the greatest songs of all time and 63rd on NME's 2014 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.
Shortly after the release of their third studio album, Mezzanine, in 1998, one of the group's founding members, Andy "Mushroom" Vowles ("Mush"), decided to leave the group due to differing views on the band's musical style.
The group has reached 13 million in worldwide album sales with the 5 studio albums they have released.
