Recep Ergül becomes the new president of MESAM
The Turkish Musical Work Owners' Professional Union (MESAM) has elected its new board. At the 17th Ordinary General Assembly of MESAM, Recep Ergül was re-elected president, receiving 88 percent of the votes.
Recep Ergül, who entered the election held at a hotel in Istanbul as part of the Change and Reform Group, competed against the other candidate, Cahit Berkay.
Ergül received 855 of the 988 votes, while Cahit Berkay received 133.
Making statements after his victory, Ergül said, "I did not win anything. MESAM won. When we set out five years ago, I said, 'If we win, MESAM wins.' We showed the whole world what we have achieved in two and a half years. Now a different process is beginning for all of you. I would like to thank every single MESAM member who did not withhold their support from me."
NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCED
The new board of MESAM includes Mustafa Kul, Gökhan Kırdar, Selim Çaldıran, Tuğba Akkavak, Aytekin Ataş, Ekrem Ataer, Hakan Sarıca, Özkan Can Canbolat, Ferzende Kaya, and Salih Turhan.
