100% hike in IMM nursery fees
At the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council meeting, it was decided to increase the monthly fee for municipal nurseries from 2,500 liras to 5,000 liras, representing a 100% hike.
The third session of the IMM Council's June meetings was held at the municipal building in Saraçhane, chaired by the Council's 2nd Deputy Speaker Gökhan Gümüşdağ.
During the council meeting, the 2025 revised fee schedule proposal submitted by the IMM Department of Financial Services, Revenue Branch Directorate, was discussed.
The proposal, which requested an increase in the monthly fee for municipal nurseries from 2,500 liras to 5,000 liras—a 100% hike—at the request of the Child Services Branch Directorate, also demanded price increases in many other areas, including the Parks and Gardens Directorate, the Wholesale Market Directorate, the Zoning Directorate, cultural events, and sports facilities.
Following the speeches, the 2025 revised fee schedule was approved by a majority vote.
