My fellow citizens, this is not the time for shame

Feeling ashamed at the final straws that break the camel's back is not a sign of wise behavior; failing to reach common sense will lead to dire consequences for all parties involved!

There is no need to look very far; if the events of December 16-25 had happened to a different society, what would the outcome have been? Let us remember: while stacks of money and even money-counting machines were found in the homes of political figures and their relatives during operations in Ankara and Istanbul, and while phone whispers were clearly reflected in the public eye, how was the incident covered up as a Fethullah smear campaign!

On April 16, 2017, following the presidential constitutional system referendum, did the phrase “the one who bought the horse has already crossed Üsküdar” used by the President in his speech to the public satisfy the naive pseudo-intellectuals who said “it is not enough, but yes!”?

Every result is formed at the end of the path taken; every result is a consequence. We blame the government for the recent financial crisis because that is what is visible on the stage right now. If what we are experiencing these days is a result, is it not reasonable to think that this result was reached as a consequence of a long path followed? Therefore, let us discuss and question the result we have reached today, which saddens a large part of our people, but more importantly and usefully, let us sincerely look back at which of our mistakes led us to these days. We all know the famous Chinese torture method; one way of punishing a person in ancient Chinese torture was to create a constant drip of water on a fixed point on their head. What did we do? Instead of a water drip, we sent a wave of compassion and trust. And we got the result!

Now there is a claim: let those whose names are mentioned in the snatch-and-grab incident be disclosed. Some of those occupying the highest offices of the state are speaking from a high horse, saying things like “let it go wherever it leads.” There is nothing to say to expressions that would bring relief to one's heart, but there is no action either!

Even if we leave the past aside and focus on the latest incident, a mistake is sensed in the developments. If the institutions where the incident took place and the managers of the institutions related to their supervision are appointed from a single center, or if the appointment is supervised, and if the responsibility is concentrated at that well-known point, who is the main person responsible, and which institution is it? Now the question is this: is the responsibility for what happened individual, or is it institutional due to appointment or supervision errors? However, the matter is not that simple; because if what happened is in the realm of individual responsibility, then the responsibility for the incident of the undisclosed list, with the disclosure of the lists being within the will of the organization, also lies with that organization or person. In that case, the effort to save our country from this ugly incident, at least partially, must come from within the organization itself. Since the organization is managed from the top, objections must also be directed to the top. In this case, all members of parliament can fulfill their conscientious responsibility, shed their party identity, and act as representatives of the people to clear themselves and our country. This action, of course, is not something that can be legally demanded, nor is it something for which one could be held responsible under positive law if not done. However, this is an action that will save the honor of the person themselves, even if it does not have an effect on the party, for someone with a strong sense of responsibility. Moreover, it can be thought that a certain group capable of acting with a deep sense of individual responsibility can also be extremely effective in general party behavior. The counter-argument to this claim is also valid; namely, if such honest behavior threatens people, then woe to us! It means the country has turned into a criminal organization!

Dealing with the images that surface in social events where deep undercurrents are at play may soothe the experienced tension, but it cannot solve the issue at its root and permanently. Because, let us return to the first explanation: every result is the consequence of a path taken! Then it is necessary to go even further back. It is necessary to ask our legal expert friends: with what understanding of morality and science discipline did you invent an office that has the authority to appoint everywhere, but has almost no responsibility and can be protected by presidential protection? Yes, the monstrous system we are implementing is a great invention; the masters who created it should be congratulated! In the coming years, in social sciences doctoral halls, how this system is a piece of nonsense and opportunism will be discussed, with your names mentioned as well. Did you have no sense of moral responsibility or scientific ethics at all when preparing this proposal? These offices might be requested from you, but on what grounds were you able to drag a whole nation into such humiliation? Shame on you! And what should be said to my colleague friends who sell the fallacies on television that the first period of the AKP was good but the second period was spoiled!

My people, please, without forgetting the past and what has been said, by displaying a strong political stance, let us save both our nation and our politicians, who are desperately diving into the pool of imperialism, with our compassionate hands.
