5-month ban against forest fires begins in Muğla

The Muğla Governor's Office has announced that, in order to prevent forest fires, entry into designated forest areas between June 3, 2025, and October 31, 2025, is prohibited, except for those with permission from authorities and authorized bodies.

While stopping and picnicking within and around forests are prohibited, citizens will only be able to have picnics without fire in registered picnic areas. Furthermore, leaving flammable or explosive materials in forest areas has been strictly forbidden.

FIRE PRECAUTIONS

It has become mandatory to keep fire extinguishing equipment on hand during construction and renovation work. The burning of stubble and vegetation in rural areas has been banned, and it is mandatory to keep water tankers and fire extinguishers near relevant vehicles.

Facilities and industrial establishments around forests will also take precautions against fire and create protective buffer zones.

FIREWORKS AND SKY LANTERNS BANNED IN FORESTS

The maintenance of power transmission lines, the creation of protective buffer zones around municipal waste collection areas, and the increase of inspections through patrol systems by public institutions are also included in the scope of the decision.

The use of explosive materials such as fireworks and sky lanterns in forests has been banned. Driven hunts and unauthorized marina moorings will also be brought under control. Fire reports can be made via the 112 Emergency Line. Authorities have called on all citizens to be sensitive to forest fires and to comply with the established rules.
