He killed his wife by slitting her throat: Their children witnessed the moments

The incident occurred on Menderes Street in the Yenice district. According to the information obtained, Yusuf B. (48) arrived at the home where his common-law wife, Tutku Burcu Köseoğlu (29), was living. It is alleged that after sending their 3 children—two girls and one boy, aged between 7 and 10—out of the house, Yusuf B. began arguing with Köseoğlu.

Hearing the sounds coming from the house, the children ran to the Yenice District Police Department, located approximately 200 meters away, and reported the situation to the police teams.

Upon receiving the report, the teams arrived at the address but were unable to enter because the door was locked, so they requested assistance from the fire department. After the fire crews opened the door, the police entered the house and found Tutku Burcu Köseoğlu lying motionless in a pool of blood. It was determined that Yusuf B., who was in the same house, had cut his wrists with a knife.

Medical teams confirmed that Köseoğlu had lost her life at the scene due to knife wounds to her throat. The injured suspect, Yusuf B., was taken to the hospital by ambulance under police supervision after receiving initial treatment at the scene.

Following the public prosecutor's examination at the scene, Crime Scene Investigation teams conducted evidence collection. After the examinations were completed, the young woman's body was taken to the Yenice State Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Following the incident, the three children who had reported their parents' fight to the police were taken under protection by police teams. Emotional moments occurred when one of the children, who had arrived at the scene, hugged their neighbors and burst into tears.

Suspect learned to have 6 prior criminal records

On the other hand, it was learned that Yusuf B., who killed his common-law wife, had 6 separate criminal records, had recently been in prison for violence against the same woman, and had been released a short time ago. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
