Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer announced that he has joined the NEW Party during a broadcast on Sözcü TV.

Özer stated for the first time that he joined the NEW Party a few days ago.

Ahmet Özer said, “A decision had been made regarding Istanbul. We were going through a period where the decision to switch was put on hold.

However, afterwards, in order for everyone to see their own path, we will hold a meeting with our council members and they will make their decisions.

Since it was decided that it would be correct to move towards clarification, we have implemented this,” he stated.
