Political corruption, social decay, and collapse
It is no longer possible to summarize the dire situation the country is in with a few sentences because:
The purchasing power eroded by inflation, the taxes that break the citizen's back, the misery to which millions of retirees and minimum-wage earners are condemned, the despair driven by unemployment...
The dismantling of the social and public health approach, appointment crises; especially the months-long delays for radiological examinations...
The widening gap between the rich and the poor due to reactionary and market-oriented education policies; the escalating spiral of violence and peer bullying in schools; children who are exploited for the sake of capital under the name of Vocational Training Centers (MESEM) and die on the job...
The Diyanet (Presidency of Religious Affairs) directing education by being placed in a position parallel to, or even more authoritative than, the Ministry of National Education; the growth of holding-like sects and religious communities in the education sector through private schools, dormitories, hostels, courses, and foundation universities under the guise of foundations and associations; and preachers, religious services experts, Quran course instructors, and muezzins introduced into schools under the name of spiritual counselors under the guise of "values education"...
Cronyism, nepotism, meritless appointments...
A justice system stripped of its universal principles, legal practices that are privileged for supporters and hostile toward opponents...
Censorship applied to the press, closed television channels, social media accounts blocked from access, and unfair and heavy sentences given to imprisoned journalists...
The last remaining assets in the treasury; the sale of bridges, roads, parks, and service buildings...
The usurpation of the people's will through trustees, arrests, and political transfers...
Mines, forests, coasts, pastures, and plateaus exploited for capital; environmental massacres, cities and earthquake zones surrendered to rent-seeking...
Child brides, femicides, child abuse...
Uncultivated agricultural lands, barren soils, livestock farming on the verge of collapse...
Gaps created in the budget by the foreign trade deficit, credit debts, printing of unbacked currency...
The Opposition That Creates Its Own Despair
So, in this picture, why is the ruling party in first place with 31.9% of the vote in the latest poll by Metropoll Research Company, while the main opposition party is in second place with 25%?
Let's summarize briefly: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who paved the way for the government for years, was placed in the CHP chairmanship seat through a political operation. The New Party, founded by the majority who left the party, decided to vote "yes" on the framework law and left its deputies free. This stance, which was evaluated as a "strategy" by the management staff and as a "failure to stand tall" by large masses of voters, could not be compensated; because in a republic founded on the essence of full independence, presenting a vote aimed at legitimizing terrorism as a "strategy" was unacceptable. Thus, the main opposition party created its own despair.
On the other hand, despite the harsh rhetoric of the IYI Party leader on the podium, her arm-in-arm appearance at Anıtkabir with the architect of the resolution process created a deep sense of distrust among voters.
In the shadow of all these debates, the process initiated under the name of the 'resolution process' has gained dangerous momentum. The transfer of the terrorist leader to a special residence and the statements by his spokespeople that this residence is a 'coordination center' have become the focus of political corruption.
That was not enough; on November 2, over 300 women who came to Ankara from 24 different cities and called themselves "peace mothers" gathered in the Parliament Park and called for the release of Öcalan, the determination of his legal status, and legal steps to be taken for prisoners in jail. The group then moved to Kurtuluş Park, where they held a vigil throughout the night. During the protest, DEM Party officials visited the group; subsequently, meetings were held with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and Ministry of Justice officials.
That was not enough; on November 3, 2026, the aforementioned mothers were allowed to speak at the DEM Party group meeting. Their message was, "Join hands with Öcalan!" Afterward, they met with political party groups (New Party, New Path Party, MHP, AKP, and CHP groups and their representatives) in order.
All of this happened in our country, which tore up the Treaty of Sèvres—the only treaty signed by defeated states after World War I that was never implemented.
At this point, let us recall the police interventions and rough handling of veterans who recently protested in Kurtuluş Park for their personal rights, retirees who wanted to walk from Istanbul to Ankara to make a press statement, and private sector teachers and workers who wanted to march to ministries, and ask the question: "Where are we?"
We are in the middle of a heavy destruction, on the verge of imperialism's new partition plan, the Greater Middle East Project (BOP), and alongside all of this, in the heart of a profiteering policy.
Such a profiteering that while the cost of the Iran War to the US is approximately 47 billion dollars and the cost of the 2023 Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake to our country is approximately 35 billion dollars, we are in the middle of a 173 billion dollar fund profiteering...
With this profiteering, the costs we listed above will become even heavier; as the long-term effects of the crisis deepen, the burden on the citizen's back will grow exponentially.
The Only Address for Salvation: The People
The citizen no longer wants empty rhetoric but a concrete and real way out; they expect the clogged institutional mechanisms to be overcome and the profiteers to be punished. Most importantly, they demand an end to the attacks on our unitary nation-state, our secular republic, and our linguistic unity.
Therefore, the real option in this dire picture is the people's opposition. The only way to get rid of this collapse, corruption, and usurpation of sovereignty—as in our historical accumulation—is hidden in the people's own determination and conscience. The only address for salvation, which draws its essence from full independence and national sovereignty, is again the Republic.
