Attention Istanbul residents! These roads will be closed due to 'Syrian Consulate security measures'
The Istanbul Police Department's Traffic Inspection Branch has announced the roads that will be closed and the alternative routes for Sunday, March 9, 2025, as part of "Syrian Consulate security measures."
Following calls by NGOs for a protest in front of the Syrian Consulate in Istanbul, the Istanbul Police Department's Traffic Inspection Branch announced that certain roads will be closed on Sunday, March 9.
The roads to be closed from 08:00 until the end of the program are determined as follows: from the intersection of Maçka Street and Abdi İpekçi Street to the intersection of Teşvikiye Street, from the intersection of Teşvikiye Street and Maçka Street to the intersection of Vali Konağı Street, as well as Nişantaşı Ihlamur Yolu Street and Atiye Street.
The alternative routes to the closed roads were announced as follows: Valikonağı Street, Rumeli Street, Abdi İpekçi Street, Bostan Street, Osman F. Seden Street, Bronz Street, Hüsrev Gerede Street, Akkavak Street, Ahmet Fetgari Street, and Mim Kemal Öke Street.
