The investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Şile Municipality has been completed. An indictment has been filed against suspended Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı, seeking a prison sentence of 33 years and 3 months to 92 years.
In the file handled by the Terror and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "extortion," "bribery," and "rigging a tender" against the municipality were examined. In the initial phase of the investigation, 6 suspects, including Kabadayı, had been detained.
The prepared indictment states that Kabadayı is also facing charges of "extortion by coercion," "forgery of official documents," "fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations," "receiving bribes," and "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime."
The indictment has been accepted by the Anatolian 27th High Criminal Court.
