NEW Party Erzincan MP Mustafa Sarıgül has made a statement regarding the investigation that began on October 16, 2026, concerning himself and his family.
RESPECTFULLY TO THE PUBLIC; I am observing with sadness that there is intense misinformation and a perception operation in the public sphere regarding the investigation that began on October 16, 2026, concerning myself and my family. Topics that have no relation to each other or the investigation are being presented both incorrectly and distortedly; baseless allegations are being reflected as if they were true, news is being generated from these allegations, and unfair comments are being made based on these inferences. Publications, posts, and comments regarding the investigation have now reached the dimension of an attack on my personal rights. In the meantime, I owe a debt of gratitude to those who do not comment based on unreal, dirty information and who listen to the truth. Although there is a confidentiality order and a restriction on the file in the ongoing investigation; I would like to announce that I will resort to legal means against those who: -Violate the confidentiality of the investigation, -Declare those who are still only suspects as guilty, -Attack our personal rights. My lawyers will file a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against those who act contrary to the "presumption of innocence and the right to not be stigmatized," "violate the confidentiality of the investigation," spread lies/misleading information, and share images. I do not expect mercy or privilege from anyone, only justice and fairness. Let justice be served through the law, not by creating public opinion through malice, slander, and rumors produced from them. Let the investigation not turn into a preemptive punishment. Furthermore, and on this occasion; let those who want to create public opinion with malice, slander, and rumors by saying that this investigation will go back to such and such a date or extend to such and such places know that; the allegations subject to the investigation are baseless. I do not accept any of them. THERE IS NO SUBJECT SINCE 1956 THAT I CANNOT ACCOUNT FOR. In order to prevent my party from being drawn into debates due to this investigation, I will apply to my party's authorized bodies to have my NEW Party membership suspended until the investigation in question is concluded. Stating that allegations that do not reflect the truth have been brought to the agenda within the scope of the investigation, Sarıgül announced that he would resort to legal means and that he would apply to have his NEW Party membership suspended until the investigation is concluded.
