Cevdet Yılmaz on the process: 'It is not yet complete'

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made statements regarding the current agenda during a live broadcast on TRT Haber.

Regarding the new resolution process they call a 'Terror-Free Turkey', Yılmaz remarked, "We have reached a new phase. But of course, the process is not yet complete. The most important aspect of this new phase is that the terrorist organization has disbanded itself. It said it would lay down its arms, but the implementation and realization of this is key. We will follow this process with sensitivity."

Stating that the decision to disband taken by the PKK terrorist organization must be implemented as soon as possible, Yılmaz said, "We hope that this process is implemented quickly. Because these are sensitive processes. On one hand, there will be many who want to throw a wrench into such processes. From the inside and from the outside. Those who want Turkey's troubles to persist and for it to continue struggling with problems will certainly be uncomfortable with these processes."

TRUMP'S SYRIA DECISION

Stating that US President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria should also serve as an example for European Union countries, Yılmaz said, "Ultimately, this is a very positive step. I would like to reiterate here that the European Union and Europe should also take steps in this regard. Some flexibilities have been introduced there as well, but a cautious process management is still being conducted. These sanctions must be lifted entirely as soon as possible."
