CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı's harsh reaction to 'extra' allegations: Journalism ethics are incompatible with hit-job tactics

CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı responded with a written statement to allegations that "the participants were extras" regarding the party's membership participation ceremony held in Istanbul.

In his statement, Sarı argued that the reports in question aimed to overshadow the CHP's growing organization and stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth.

"The Allegations Are Nothing But Slander"

Müslim Sarı expressed that the reports regarding the membership participation ceremony were "immoral and unconscionable slander," stating that the citizens who joined the CHP did so of their own free will.

Sarı stated that thousands of citizens join the CHP every day to contribute to the country's future, adding that it is unacceptable to label those who attended the ceremony as "paid extras."

"An Accusation Against the Dignity of Citizens"

In his statement, Sarı argued that unemployed individuals, unappointed teachers, retirees, and citizens from different segments of society who joined the party were being targeted, and that portraying these people as "paid extras" is an accusation that damages the dignity of thousands of people.

Using harsh language toward those who brought the allegations to the agenda, Sarı claimed that they were acting with a "hit-job mentality that does not know the Republican People's Party (CHP) or its members."

Message of Legal Action

Emphasizing that the CHP draws its roots from the Kuvâ-yı Milliye (National Forces) and derives its power solely from the nation, Müslim Sarı stated that they would not remain silent against attempts to target the party and the will of the citizens under the guise of journalism.

At the end of his statement, Sarı announced that they would use all their legal rights to the fullest extent against those who brought the allegations to the agenda and that they would share the process with the public.
