Condolence message from Erdoğan for the Pope
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued a message of condolence for Pope Francis, who has passed away.
The Vatican announced that the spiritual leader of Catholics and Head of State of the Vatican City, Pope Francis, passed away at the age of 88 at 07:35 local time (08:35 Turkish time).
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan included the following statements in his condolence message regarding the Pope's death, shared on his social media account:
"I have learned with sadness of the passing of the spiritual leader of the Catholic world, Head of State of the Vatican City, Pope Francis.
A respected statesman, Pope Francis was also a spiritual leader who valued dialogue between different faith groups and took initiative in the face of humanitarian tragedies, particularly the Palestinian issue and the genocide in Gaza.
On behalf of myself and my nation, I extend my condolences to the family of the deceased, the Vatican State, and the Catholic world."
