Demolition begins on 50-year-old building after bathroom floor collapses
In Fatih, the demolition of a 50-year-old building has begun after a teenage girl fell to the floor below and was injured when the bathroom floor collapsed. In the incident that occurred on August 27, 15-year-old E.M. sustained minor injuries. The collapsed building and two adjacent buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
The incident occurred on August 27 in a 5-story building located on Alişan Street in the Nişanca neighborhood. The bathroom in an apartment on the 4th floor of the 50-year-old building collapsed into the floor below while 15-year-old E.M. was taking a shower. The young girl, identified as E.M., sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The collapsed building and two adjacent buildings had been evacuated as a precaution.

Fatih Municipality teams have begun the controlled demolition of the building where the collapse occurred. During the demolition process, the street was closed to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic in both directions as a safety measure.
It was learned that the work is expected to take 5 days and that the building will be demolished using cranes and heavy machinery. Meanwhile, the demolition work on the building was captured from the air.
