According to meteorological reports, locally heavy downpours and thundery showers are expected in Istanbul until 9:00 PM this evening. It is important to be careful and take precautions against adverse conditions such as flash floods, inundations, lightning, and sudden strong winds, the statement said.

Furthermore, the post included the weather forecast and warning table from the 1st Regional Directorate of the General Directorate of Meteorology under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

TRAFFIC CONGESTION EXCEEDS 80 PERCENT

Following the warnings, traffic congestion increased on some of the city's main arteries after the heavy downpour began.
