Drug operation at Sabiha Gökçen Airport: 17 kilograms of cocaine seized

Drug operation at Sabiha Gökçen Airport: 17 kilograms of cocaine seized

The Ministry of Trade's Customs Enforcement teams seized a total of 43 million lira worth of narcotics in three separate operations carried out at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Hamzabeyli, and Kapıköy customs areas. 

In the operations, 81 thousand captagon pills, 17 kilograms of cocaine, and 8 kilograms of cannabis were seized.

DRUGS CONCEALED IN CARGO SHIPMENT DETECTED 

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Trade, a shipment arriving at the cargo section of Sabiha Gökçen Airport was inspected by the Istanbul Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams. The cargo, to which narcotics dogs reacted, was sent for X-Ray scanning. During the examination, drug pills hidden in the natural cavities of door locks were detected. It was determined that the seized drugs were of the captagon type.


81 THOUSAND CAPTAGON PILLS SEIZED 

A total of 81 thousand captagon pills were confiscated in the operation at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Officials stated that operations will continue with determination in the fight against drug trafficking.
