In the Efeler district of Aydın, Fadime Akbal was shot by Kamil Köse, whom she had divorced 8 years ago. Akbal, who was critically injured, lost her life despite all interventions at the Aydın Adnan Menderes University Hospital, where she had been taken.
The incident occurred around 07:00 in the morning on Enver Paşa Boulevard in the Adnan Menderes neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Köse came to the street where Akbal was located and waited for her to leave the house. After Akbal stepped outside, Köse followed her and opened fire with a gun.
Upon reports from bystanders who heard the gunshots, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Akbal, who was taken to the hospital by medical teams, could not be saved. It was learned that Akbal worked as a staff member at the Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Dentistry.
Following the attack, an operation was launched to apprehend Kamil Köse, who had fled the scene. The teams, who determined that Köse had left the area in his vehicle, found the vehicle on the side of the road near the Kardeşköy neighborhood.
During the examination of the vehicle, it was determined that Köse had committed suicide with the same weapon he used to kill Akbal. It was also alleged that a restraining order had previously been issued against Köse. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
