Fireworks banned in another country

According to a statement from the Nigerian Police, the sale and use of fireworks and all explosive products have been banned in the states during Christmas and New Year celebrations due to increasing security issues in the country.

The statement, which noted that this decision was taken for public safety, indicated that those who default will be detained and face legal action.

The statement also called on the public to stay away from explosive materials during the celebration period.
