Mayor Şeniz Doğan, who was arrested in the investigation into zoning irregularities conducted at the Merkezefendi Municipality in Denizli, made a statement on her social media account following the decision.
Of the 17 suspects referred to the courthouse as part of the investigation, 5 were arrested, while 12 were released under judicial control. Previously, 10 people detained as part of the operation had also been released under judicial control.
Following hours of testimony, Doğan, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, was sent off to prison with applause.
Doğan used the following expressions in her social media post:
