French citizen Nael Mgattaf (8), his father Mhemed Mgattaf (38), his brother Isaac Ismael Mgattaf (3), as well as Önder Demir (32) and Gül Demir (29) were injured in the incident.

Nevşehir Governor Hüseyin Kök announced that a landslide occurred following heavy rainfall in the region, causing the fairy chimney to collapse as a result of rockfall. Search and rescue operations were concluded after it was determined that no one else remained under the rock fragments.
