Foreign Ministry issues sharp response to Israeli officials' remarks on Erdoğan

The Ministry issued a written statement regarding the remarks made by certain Israeli officials.

The statement, which included the phrase, "We categorically reject the slanders and baseless allegations of certain Israeli officials (directed at President Erdoğan)," emphasized that the efforts of some Israeli officials—who cannot even tolerate the expression of truths and facts—to change the agenda with distortions and slanders in the hope of covering up the brutal massacre that collectively targets Palestinian civilians in Gaza will not yield results.

The statement noted that the targeting of the United Nations (UN), UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and President Erdoğan by these officials, who are committing a crime against humanity before the eyes of the entire world but cannot even tolerate criticism and condemnation, is a clear indication of the helplessness they have fallen into, and added the following:

"We return the accusations of antisemitism, slanders, and insults directed at our President and our country (by Israeli officials) to their originators in kind.

Unlike many countries that provide unconditional support to Israel today, it is known to everyone that Turkey's record on this matter is spotless and clean.

It is a truth acknowledged by all historians that throughout history, Turkey has been a safe haven for everyone who has been persecuted, including Jews.

We call on the Israeli authorities to urgently heed the calls for a ceasefire and peace made to them in order to put an end to this barbarism that aims to annihilate the residents of Gaza in their entirety."
