Former Tunceli State Hospital Chief Physician detained in Gülistan Doku investigation

Former Tunceli State Hospital Chief Physician detained in Gülistan Doku investigation

Çağdaş Özdemir, the chief physician at the time of the disappearance of university student Gülistan Doku in Tunceli, has been detained in Bursa as part of the investigation.

Operations were carried out in 7 provinces on suspicion of murder in the investigation into Gülistan Doku, a 2nd-year student in the Child Development Department at Munzur University, who has been missing since January 5, 2020, and 13 suspects were detained. Among the suspects whose statements were completed at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, E.E., G.E., S.G., and S.Ö. were referred to the courthouse yesterday; G.E. and E.E. were arrested, while S.G. and S.Ö. were released under judicial control. Of the 9 suspects whose procedures at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command were completed, 7 were referred to the courthouse today.

An investigation was launched into the former Tunceli Governor and Chief Civil Inspector Tuncay Sonel, whose son was among those detained in the investigation, upon the instructions of Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi regarding the allegations, and he was subsequently suspended from duty. Tuncay Sonel, who was in Elazığ, was detained by teams from the Elazığ Provincial Security Directorate.

Finally, it was reported that the former Chief Physician of Tunceli State Hospital, Çağdaş Özdemir, was detained in Bursa.
