Former Zafer Party Provincial Chair Gökhan Katırcı critically wounded in armed attack

A dispute between two lawyers in Afyonkarahisar ended in an armed attack. Lawyer Gökhan Katırcı, who is reported to be the former Zafer Party Afyonkarahisar Provincial Chair, was shot and critically wounded by the lawyer he was arguing with, identified as U.Ç.

The incident occurred in the Ali İhsan Paşa neighborhood. According to allegations, an argument broke out between lawyer U.Ç. and Gökhan Katırcı for reasons yet to be determined. As the argument escalated, U.Ç. fired at Katırcı with a handgun he was carrying.

Following reports from bystanders, medical teams were dispatched to the scene for Katırcı, who was struck by two bullets. After receiving initial treatment at the scene, Katırcı was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Katırcı is in critical condition.

U.Ç., who fled the scene after the attack, was apprehended about half an hour later as a result of police pursuit. The suspect was taken into custody along with the weapon used in the incident.

It was stated that Gökhan Katırcı was the previous Afyonkarahisar Provincial Chair of the Zafer Party and had resigned from his post about 10 days ago. A comprehensive investigation into the incident has been launched by the prosecutor's office.
