Full US support for Israel on ground operation: General known as 'Butcher of the Middle East' steps in

It has been learned that Lieutenant General James Glynn, who served during the US invasion of Iraq and is known by the name 'Butcher of the Middle East,' has been assigned to the region to advise the Israeli army.

According to reports in the international press, the US administration, which has been expressing concerns for some time regarding a ground operation in Gaza, believes that the Israeli army is not sufficiently prepared for such an operation.

In light of information appearing in The Times of Israel and Axios, a senior Israeli official announced that Lieutenant General James Glynn is among the Marine Corps officers sent to Israel from the US side.

Glynn previously headed special operations for the Marine Corps and participated in operations against ISIS in Iraq. It was reported that Glynn and other US officers are allegedly not directing the operations but are providing military advice to the Israel Defense Forces regarding their plans in Gaza.

  • White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated to reporters on Monday that "there are a few US military officers with experience in the type of operations the Israelis are conducting who are in Israel to share their perspectives and ask difficult questions."

WHO IS JAMES GLYNN?

Israel, which declared an official state of war for the first time since 1973, is expected to launch a ground operation into Gaza. At this very moment, the US has sent James Glynn, who served as a commander in the Fallujah operations in 2004 where 6 thousand Iraqis were killed, to Israel. Fallujah went down in history as the place where the US faced the most resistance and suffered the most casualties during the Iraq invasion.

The US military had to conduct two operations in the city. The large-scale operations carried out led to US soldiers engaging in urban warfare with local insurgents.

Furthermore, the clashes between Iraqi militias in Fallujah and the US military led to the emergence of the name Abu Musab al-Zarqawi on the world stage. Zarqawi later founded the terrorist organization he named the Islamic State, known as ISIS.
