Cem Küçük's Halk TV and Gezi claim: 'Those who knew these things left the channel'
Türkiye newspaper columnist Cem Küçük, in an article targeting Halk TV, claimed that a new investigation into the Gezi Park protests would extend to Halk TV. Küçük also stated that the channel's relationship with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is under scrutiny. Here are the details...
Türkiye Gazetesi columnist Cem Küçük made striking allegations targeting Halk TV in his column today. Küçük claimed that the broadcasts made by Halk TV during the Gezi Park protests would become the subject of legal proceedings. Stating that "in the coming days, the Gezi coup attempt investigation will extend to Halk TV," Küçük noted that an operation is "a matter of time."
In his article, Cem Küçük claimed that Halk TV's connection with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) subsidiary Medya A.Ş. is also being investigated. Arguing that the channel will be questioned due to this connection, Küçük said, "Those who knew this have left the channel. More people will leave the channel in the coming days."
Küçük's article reads as follows:
"The opposition media unfortunately continues to drug its own base. Halk TV leads this. Almost every evening, they lynch a few people, institutions, or administrators close to the government. They are currently silent because they are terrified of President Erdoğan.
For 1.5 years, they carried out character assassinations every evening against some MHP deputies who had nothing to do with the Sinan Ateş murder. They attacked the nationalist community without presenting a single piece of evidence. Under the guise of journalism, they recounted all kinds of baseless nonsense. They have not yet been held legally accountable for their actions.
The opposition media defended the e-Memorandum in 2007, the AK Party closure case in 2008, the operation against the MIT in 2012, the December 17-25 coup attempt, and the trench incidents. They have always been on the wrong side of history. Halk TV broadcast for three months specifically so that the Gezi coup attempt would succeed. The process of examining those broadcasts has ended. Pressing the button for an operation is a matter of time. We will see if it happens before the Ramadan Feast."
Cafer Mahiroğlu is aware of this. He is also dealing with dozens of lawsuits. He is paying millions in fines. Because dozens of lawsuits have been rightfully filed against the executioners under the name of commentators on the channel.
When Ekrem İmamoğlu criticized the expert witness, that expert was lynched on Halk TV, specifically by Barış Pehlivan. They openly recorded the man secretly. In court, Pehlivan sold everyone out. Cafer Mahiroğlu was actually going to fire Barış, but he canceled it when Suat Aktaş was arrested. Some of the executioner commentators who supposedly reacted to Rasim Ozan appearing on the Halk TV YouTube channel resigned. They took preemptive action before Barış Pehlivan and Barış Terkoğlu were fired.
I exclude the laborers on that channel who are just trying to earn a living, as well as the decent commentators. But those who engage in character assassination will sooner or later be held legally accountable.
I wrote above, in the coming days, the Gezi coup attempt investigation will extend to Halk TV. They are also looking at their connections with Medya AŞ. That is why those who knew this have left the channel. More people will leave the channel in the coming days."
