Horrific massacre in Manisa: He killed his wife and critically injured his 8-year-old daughter

The man who stabbed his wife and 8-year-old daughter and also attacked police who arrived at the scene was captured second by second by nearby workplace cameras as he fled from police, struggled with officers and was subdued.

In an incident that took place before dawn in Turan Neighborhood in Manisa's Turgutlu district, a 45-year-old man named Fırat Arslan attacked his wife, Şenayi Arslan (44), and their 8-year-old daughter D.A. with a knife in the middle of the street. The mother and daughter, stabbed repeatedly, collapsed to the ground covered in blood. After citizens who witnessed the incident reported it, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

HE ALSO ATTACKED POLICE WITH A KNIFE

After the attack, Fırat Arslan tried to flee naked with a knife in his hand. When police teams attempted to stop Arslan, he attacked police with the knife in his hand; he was shot in the foot, subdued and taken into custody.

MOTHER DIED IN HOSPITAL

Şenayi Arslan and her young daughter D.A., who were seriously injured, were taken by medical teams to Turgutlu State Hospital. However, despite being referred to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital because her condition was critical, the mother could not be saved despite all interventions.

It was stated that the young girl's treatment was continuing in hospital and that she had overcome the life-threatening danger.

SECURITY CAMERAS RECORDED THE HORROR

The moment of the incident was recorded by nearby security cameras. In the footage, the moments when Fırat Arslan first began chasing his wife and then grabbed his daughter by the hair and stabbed her repeatedly could be seen clearly.

The cameras also recorded a young man nearby trying to intervene and distract the attacker, after which Arslan let go of the child and began chasing the young man.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

While procedures for the detained attacker continue at the police station, a wide-ranging investigation into the incident has been launched.
