Major AKP congress tomorrow: Erdoğan to thank some ministers! 'Bylaw detail'
The AKP is preparing to hold its 8th Ordinary Congress tomorrow, with plans for sweeping changes to the party leadership. While it is claimed that some cabinet ministers will be replaced following the congress, it has been suggested that Erdoğan has already bid farewell to certain names.
The AKP is preparing to hold its 8th Ordinary Congress tomorrow and implement comprehensive changes to the party leadership.
Having completed its provincial and district congresses, the party has seen a nearly 50 percent turnover in its local organizations, and significant changes are also expected in the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK).
Speculation continues in political circles that this change in party management will also be reflected in the cabinet.
Sources close to the AKP suggest that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has met with some ministers to thank them, though there is no clear information regarding how many ministers will be dismissed.
CABINET RESHUFFLE EXPECTED
TGRT Ankara Representative Fatih Atik stated that Erdoğan could announce a cabinet reshuffle at any moment, noting, "It is being discussed that the ministers to be dismissed have been thanked. However, it is not yet clear which ministers will be replaced. The names of the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Family are coming to the fore, but there is no definitive information."
AMENDMENT TO PARTY BYLAWS
Not only management cadres but also some changes to the party bylaws are expected at the congress.
According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, the number of Deputy Chairmen will be increased from 19 to 22.
The newly created areas of responsibility will include the Deputy Chairmanship for Relations with Turkic States, the Deputy Chairmanship for Culture and Art Policies, and the Deputy Chairmanship for Health Policies.
