Poll conducted for the post-Erdoğan era: 4 names stand out

The UK-based economy and politics magazine The Economist has published a striking analysis regarding the future of the AKP and scenarios for the post-Recep Tayyip Erdoğan era.

According to the report, while a post-Erdoğan era is not being discussed loudly within the AKP, preparations for new leadership are reportedly underway behind closed doors.

The magazine listed four names that stand out for the party's future as follows:

Hakan Fidan, Süleyman Soylu, Bilal Erdoğan, and Selçuk Bayraktar.

The Economist also shared the approach of AKP supporters toward these names, based on data from a poll conducted in December.

In the responses to the question, "Who should be the next chairman?", a neck-and-neck race between Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Istanbul MP Süleyman Soylu draws attention.

The report warned that having someone other than Erdoğan at the head of the party could lead to risky outcomes for the AKP.

On the other hand, it was emphasized that President Erdoğan remains behind Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş, who are seen as potential candidates for the CHP, in most current polls.
