Scandalous opinion in the accident caused by the daughter of former Kızılay President Kerem Kınık: 'He threw himself to the ground'

In the accident that occurred on July 9 in Istanbul's Beykoz district, one person lost their life and two others were injured in a traffic accident caused by Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir, the daughter of former Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık.

As part of the investigation launched following the accident, a technical expert opinion was added to the case file.

It was determined that the accident occurred when the car driven by Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir struck a motorcycle in the Kavacık neighborhood.

Motorcycle driver Yavuz Selim Öztürk and the passenger behind him, Batın Barlas Çeki, fell to the ground due to the impact, while the now-riderless vehicle struck pedestrians on the sidewalk. In the incident, Batın Barlas Çeki, who fell from the motorcycle, lost his life after hitting his head on a concrete bollard on the sidewalk.

HE THREW HIMSELF TO THE GROUND

According to a report in BirGün, the details of the incident were conveyed in the expert opinion prepared by Forensic Informatics Expert Mustafa Sansar.

The opinion included the statements: "The driver steered the motorcycle to the right and went onto the sidewalk; during this time, the passenger behind the motorcycle (Batın Barlas Çeki) threw himself to the ground, after which the motorcycle struck the bollards on the right side and was then able to come to a stop after hitting individuals walking on the sidewalk."

PRISON SENTENCE SOUGHT FOR KINIK DEMİR

It was stated that Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir was detained after the accident but was released by the court to be tried without arrest.

A prison sentence of 2 to 15 years is being requested for Kınık Demir on charges of "causing death and injury by negligence."

In a previous expert examination regarding the incident, it was stated that Kınık Demir was entirely at fault. The expert report noted that Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir was "100 percent at fault" in the accident and that the entire responsibility for the incident belonged to her.

Following the accident and the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki, while the family and those around them experienced great sorrow, the legal process regarding the accident continues.

Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir's lawyer has submitted the expert opinion to the court and is continuing preparations to present their client's defense. The investigation and legal process regarding the incident will proceed in the coming days.
