Gendarmerie-uniformed robbery gang targets vehicle carrying gold and millions

The incident occurred at night in the Haliliye district, in the Kösecik neighborhood area of the D400 highway. Individuals whose identities have not yet been determined wore gendarmerie uniforms and set up a fake checkpoint on the road. When the vehicle with license plate 34 DLL 01, which was carrying gold, was stopped, the occupants were confronted with shots fired into the air. Approximately 13 kilograms of gold and 2 million liras in cash inside the vehicle, which was occupied by Bahattin D., Ali B., Mehmet A., and Ali M., were forcibly taken by the suspects.

Bahattin D., Mehmet A., and Ali M., who were among the passengers of the vehicle, were stabbed and injured by the attackers. The suspects fled the scene rapidly after the incident. Upon notification, medical teams and real gendarmerie units were dispatched to the scene in a short time. The injured were taken to Harran University Hospital after receiving initial treatment. According to the information obtained, the lives of the injured are not in danger.

At the same time, gendarmerie teams took extensive security measures in the area, and crime scene investigation teams examined the robbed vehicle in detail. The vehicle was towed to a parking lot as part of evidence collection efforts.

Thanks to the intensive pursuit by the Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Team (JASAT) and other security units, the identities of the suspects were quickly determined. Operations were carried out simultaneously in Mardin and Kızıltepe, which are neighboring provinces to Şanlıurfa, and seven people were taken into custody.
