"Great Palestine March" begins in Istanbul: Soylu and Erdoğan in the front row
The "Great Palestine March," organized by the National Will Platform to protest Israel's attacks in Palestine, has begun.
Participants gathered in Beyazıt for the march, which will conclude in Sultanahmet. Police teams have taken extensive security measures along the march route.
Thousands of people, including women, children, and the elderly, who arrived at Beyazıt Square from the directions of Fatih, Eminönü, and Aksaray to join the march, prepared for the event with flags in their hands. Former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son Bilal Erdoğan, and former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop were among the notable figures present.
Those participating in the demonstration carried numerous signs and banners in support of Palestine, alongside Turkish and Palestinian flags.
Groups gathered in the square chanted various slogans in favor of Palestine. Protesting Israel's attacks, the participants voiced their opposition through slogans. The group, which has begun the march, will perform the evening prayer at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque once the event concludes. Additionally, it was reported that, in accordance with the decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office, tram services will operate only between the Kabataş-Eminönü and Yusufpaşa-Bağcılar stations due to the march.
