Important warning regarding terrorists expected to lay down arms! 'New problems are coming...'
Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk wrote that if the PKK terrorist organization lays down its arms, the approximately 15 thousand terrorists will join the ranks of the unemployed.
In the new resolution process, which is architected by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli and dubbed 'Terror-Free Turkey' by the government, the PKK terrorist organization is expected to make an announcement regarding laying down arms and disbanding.
Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk touched upon an important point in his article evaluating the process. Writing that approximately 15 thousand PKK terrorists will join the ranks of the unemployed, Öztürk warned, “Precautions must be taken against mafia-like activities. In other words, it doesn't end with laying down arms; new problems are also coming.”
The relevant section of Öztürk’s article is as follows:
“With the PKK laying down its arms, approximately 15 thousand PKK members will join the ranks of the unemployed. Releasing them without rehabilitation will also bring about major problems. In the past, a significant portion of those who benefited from the Repentance Law either established organized crime groups or became involved in existing ones. Precautions must be taken against mafia-like activities. In other words, it doesn't end with laying down arms; new problems are also coming.”
