Individual who abused dog in Eskişehir detained again
The individual, who was detained and subsequently released for abusing his dog in Eskişehir, has been detained again after returning to the street where he lives and shouting threats.
In the Şirintepe neighborhood of Eskişehir's Tepebaşı district, on Taşdelen Street, 28-year-old Y.K., who was filmed abusing his dog, was detained the day before yesterday. The suspect was taken into custody by Eskişehir Police Department teams after footage of him swearing at his dog and throwing it to the ground was recorded on a mobile phone camera.
Following the investigation launched after the footage spread on social media, Y.K. was referred to the courthouse after his processing at the police station. The suspect was released after being brought before the Criminal Judgeship of Peace following his statement to the prosecutor's office.
After being released, Y.K. returned to the street where his home is located and shouted threats and insults at the people who had recorded him abusing his dog. This behavior was recorded by local residents on a mobile phone camera and drew significant backlash.
The Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the release decision regarding Y.K. and requested that the individual be detained again. Upon the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's appeal, Y.K. was taken into custody once more by police teams.
It was noted that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
