The first hearing regarding the death of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır has concluded following three days of questioning. The prosecution requested the continued detention of the imprisoned mother Yüksel Güran, brother Baran Güran, uncle Salim Güran, and the confessor Nevzat Bahtiyar. The court complied with the prosecution's request and ruled that the defendants remain in custody.

STATEMENTS FROM FATHER ARİF GÜRAN

Following the first hearing, Narin's father, Arif Güran, spoke to A Haber and made significant statements.

Criticizing the attitude of Nevzat Bahtiyar, who is a suspect in the murder despite the interviews he has given for a long time, Güran stated, “That man, while 80 percent of the courtroom was crying, his eyes did not even well up; he is like a ghost…”

''NEVZAT BAHTİYAR KNOWS EVERYTHING''

Father Arif Güran drew attention to the contradictions in Nevzat Bahtiyar's statements. Emphasizing that Bahtiyar knows the last place Narin was seen but that most of his answers to questions were inconsistent, Güran said, "Nevzat knows everything but does not remember other questions." Güran noted the suspect's attitude by using the phrase, "In the indictment, Nevzat Bahtiyar is like a ghost."

Father Güran stated that the murder case is not linked to politics or terrorism, but is entirely a family matter. He also mentioned that some people were laughing and chuckling during the court session, and that this attitude disturbed him.

''OPPRESSION HAS A LIMIT''

Reiterating his trust in his family, Güran said, “I do not suspect my family. However, if the state has suspected them and put them in prison, they will serve their sentence. But if they are innocent, the state will release them.” Stating that he hugged his son and will overcome these difficult days by standing tall, Güran said, "Oppression has a limit."

PREPARATIONS FOR THE SECOND HEARING CONTINUE

Arif Güran announced that preparations for the second hearing are ongoing and that cameras will be included in the proceedings. Furthermore, stating that applications will be made to different places regarding the case, the father said, "May God not let our rights go to waste. The state's court will uncover this."
